A batch of seven barrels from Linkwood distillery was used to create this single malt, distilled in 2009 and aged for more than 10 years. Fresh and peppery, reminiscent of an early autumn morning, with a fruity undertone contributing a mellow elegance.
N O S E
Fragrant green melon and freshly-cut hay are enveloped by the freshness of barley and apple-and-blackcurrant cordial. A slight scent of butterscotch sauce trails after.
P A L A T E
Barley sugars and under-ripe pears contribute sweetness, while vegetal notes of nettle soup and celeriac appear behind. The appearance of apple on the palate is that of a red, crunchy Gala. Salt-and-pepper Kettle chips add a small kick.
F I N I S H
Slightly syrupy, with a helping of fig yoghurt. Spicy and vegetal notes reappear, with chili black-bean sauce and bay leaves resting on.
