Region: Scotland, Islay

Skottland är väl det mest dominerande landet när det kommer till whisky. För många är Skottland originalet för whisky och att det var den skapades första gången, en titel som även Irland gärna gör anspråk på.


Skottland är i dag en självstyrande riksdel inom Storbitannien och ligger längst norrut på den stora ön. Skottland ha nästan 800 öar där hebriderna är de mest kända.


Landets huvudstad är Edinburgh medans Glasgow är den största staden.  


På Skottlands västkust i den södra delen av Hebriderna ligger ön Islay. På ön bor cirka 3500 personer. Huvudort är Bowmore som ligger i den stora viken på öns västkust.


 Det är på denna lilla ö som whiskyn är känd för att vara tydligt rökig. Idag, 2011, finns det 8 destillerier på ön som fungerar.

Så blev det sommar
Nåja, lite beroende på var man bor. Men kalendern säger sommar! Här i Stockholm är det forfarande väl svalt på kvällarna. Att då slå sig ned med något gott inomhus är nog rätt skönt ändå. Nu i juni har vi åter en snygg rad med nyheter som vi släpper lösa på vår svenska marknad. Vissa mer spännande än andra, men buketten är blandad och innehåller många riktiga godbitar.
