Flaming Feast is a blend of two single malt whiskies from the Highland region, matured in 15 first fill ex-Bourbon barrels and 2 de-charred and re-charred hogsheads .
Key tasting notes: sweet yet maritime smoke and salivating spice.
The initial nose is sweet and candy like; foam shrimps and strawberry bonbons. Mineralic note emerges in the form of limestone and fresh seaside air. A mild and perfumed smoke is only hinted at like a distant beachside bonfire.
A complex battle between sweet and savoury with heather honey, cinder toffee and marshmallows. The savoury and maritime notes take form as rollmops or salted oat cakes and scallops cooked in butter with tarragon.
Burnt wholemeal toast smeared in chunky peanut butter and a peppery spice.
